How
to use FTP to upload files for collection
SEND & RETRIEVE
1. Open Internet
Explorer (the big blue "E" icon; unfortunately, this doesn't
seem to work without it)
2. Type in your
FTP address you were given; you will see a screen that asks you
to put in your "user name" and "password",
after entering in your information; select "Log On"

3. After a few
seconds you will now see a blank screen in front of you looking
similar to this:

4. Now, Right
click on your START button and select "Explore"

5. Navigate
to where the pictures (files) are located that you want to transfer.

6. Now carefully
layer your screen so the FTP screen is below the "Explorer"
screen (like in the sample below)

7. Carefully
select the picture (or folder) you want to transfer;
click and hold your right mouse button and carefully "drag"
the file to the FTP side of the screen;
You will now see the screen below as the files transfer.
If transferring large files, you will be able to continue
working as the files transfer.

8. Once the
file transfer is complete, you will now see your file in the FTP
screen.
Be sure to notify the person your are transferring to that the file
is there waiting.

9. To RETRIEVE
files that have been transferred.
Repeat Steps
1, 2 & 3
10. Select the
item from the FTP page that you are wanting to retrieve.
Unless otherwise specified by the person sending you the file, select
"move this item" from the left side of the screen.

9. The following
screen will appear; navigate to where you want the files transferred.

9. The following
window will appear as the files are being transferred.
If transferring large files, you will be able to continue
working on your computer as the files transfer.

YOU ARE NOW
COMPLETE!
